Protecting Our Children

In the wake of shooting rampages in public schools and campuses like Virginia Tech the question arises, how can we protect our children in today's world? What can we do to give them a better chance to survive?

Three days after the massacre at Virginia Tech our local highschool was shut down due to a terroristic threat made by some students. Three students are being charged according to today's newspaper. Can we save our children from themselves?

It seems to me that today's world offers more opportunities than ever before in living memory. On the other hand a casual mistake or wrong choice can be life destroying. When I was in high school we didn't have to worry about what came out of our mouths. We only had to worry about getting caught in the act.

Not true for our children. Saying the wrong words can land them in deep trouble and perhaps in jail. In this delicate and fragile environment the thing needed most is an accurate perception of physical reality. Delusional and drug induced thinking play havoc on adolescent minds already prone to idealistic thinking.

There is a paradox at work here because when people think only of themselves society reaches its lowest point. At the lowest levels tyrants and government make slaves of people. Being self-centered and self-absorbed is not the answer to societies problems. It will not protect our children.

The emotional force of children is a force. The emotional force of our society is a similar force. These forces must be regulated by intellect and by conscious awareness. Being ruled by terror and fear of bodily harm is not in our best interests or the best interests of our children. It will only bring out the worst in them and in our government.

Our children and our society both need good examples to inspire them. When our children are inspired and when our society is inspired new heights are reached and civilizations enter golden ages. These examples need to be real and not fictional HollyWood actors and actresses.

As more and more people become victims of suicidal depression the question becomes even more urgent. Where are the high ideals and good examples we need? Where are the rugged individualists and the survivalists that can adapt and be successful in the changing world our children will inherit? Who is willing to come out and show us how it is done?

When so many people believe the game is stacked against them and they have no chance of winning they need to see others win at life. Seeing others win inspires all of us to find our own way to success and glory. This is the best possible way we can protect our children and help them to embrace the world they will inherit.

The Highest Cause

Freemasons and Rosicrucians belonged to mystery schools and followed specific teachings. These teachings were the collective wisdom entrusted to a few and given to the many. This wisdom was passed down from one member to another and transmitted through allegory, symbol and initiation because of the limitations of language. In every age the wisdom was re-interpreted to be meaningful for a modern audience.

Any new interpretation has always encountered stiff resistance from the established ways of thinking carried over from the past. In today's world the Catholic Church used to dominate the western world. Today our universities and scientific materialism dominate. There is no use for spirituality any more or so it seems. At least we enjoy public education and our society is mostly literate.

In a world where the Catholic Church dominated there were no public schools and no access to controversial theories or concepts except for Secret Societies. It is easy for us to take for granted the basic philosophical understanding and training we recieve through the public school system. This was not always available to the common man or woman.

Private tutors educated the rich and others found apprenticeships to learn trades and life skills. Most of this training and education was oral and given by a master to his or her apprentice.

For those not rich enough to have private tutors organizations like Freemasonry were the only option. Education has always been the best way for anyone to climb into a better social class. For the first time social organizations served the highest cause of all.

In the process of carving one's own destiny self-education, self-esteem, and the conscious individual have always been the highest cause. Mystery schools and fraternal organizations are simply people of like mind and values that join together is a supportive way for mutual education and self empowerment.

Like the modern open source community in the computer world, there is a shared dream of what people working together can do to improve all of life. This is a move away from selfish greed and poverty thinking. It is an understanding of the miracles a supportive community can achieve.

These movements are what allows a nation and its citizens to evolve into a higher way of living and understanding. These are the progressive movement of life that will always exist within creative individuals.

Sadly even the best movements grow old and toxic. The message that once saved and invigorated a population begins to restrict and enslave it. This is a natural cycle and there is no avoiding it. We grow out of our old ways and grow into new ways that allow more freedom and self-expression.

We have outgrown religion in the commonly accepted terms and harsh cold science has taken its place along with modern technology. Now even science and technology are beginning to restrict and enslave us. There is no room for spirit and individual creativity except in the acceptance of chaos theory.

OAK merges these different disciplines in a new way that is supportive of them all. With its embrace of chaos theory we are given insights into a modern path of self empowerment that is as objective and real as science with a soul as human as Christianity once was. We have the technology to heal ourselves and make life a heaven on earth. It is up to each individual to claim their own small piece.

Our Sphere of Influence

Each of us has a sphere of influence. We have friends or family that listen to us and love us. At work co-workers share the work day with us.

When you stop and think about it we touch the lives of many people during the course of a single day. A warm smile in greeting to a stranger might brighten someone's day. When someone smiles at us or calls us by name it makes us feel better. Are we doing the same for others?

Living by example is the most powerful influence of all. That means being an authentic person. It also means being free enough to express who we really are. There is an order and purpose to everything that happens. Today we experienced the natural consequences of things we have done in the past. What have we done today that will influence tomorrow in the way we want?

One of the ways to do this and become free is to turn our aspirations toward God/dess and high ideals. Another is to reverse self-directed thinking and think of others. When we expand our living beyond ourselves to include others it inspires them to do the same. When we treat others with respect and dignity we receive back in kind.

This does not mean to become self-less. It doesn't mean to deny ourselves to give to others. It means to share our success and prosperity. When our personal cup overflows and runs over there is plenty to share with others. The goal to share and promote is self-growth not self-denial.

Encourage everyone to find their own personal path through life. Allow them the guiltless freedom to be who they are and accept that for yourself as well. Everyone is a unique individual with a personal path that is known only to themselves. Only they can determine their own self-worth. This includes not being ashamed of personal appearance and natural bodily functions.

Our world has become so artificial and shallow that true character and personality takes second place to movie star looks and physique. We are ashamed if our complexion is not perfect or we are over weight. Fitting a stereotype is more important than being real. That is why there is so much fake in our society.

This is a warning that things are not right because nature is not fooled. Artificial is not real and in times of crisis the fake will fall and the real will survive. By setting examples of what is real we can use our sphere of influence to create a real world that is worth living in. When others see the quality of life we experience they will want to experience the same kind of authenticity. They will be inspired by our living examples.

Introduction to Duality

Even today in the age of medical miracles and computers science doesn't formally acknowledge the universal dual nature of reality. This is truly the power of Dewey Larson's Reciprocal Field Theory. For the first time a general field theory is based on the principles of duality. The Reciprocal Field Theory postulates a space/time universe and a time/space universe that co-exist in the same space. They are separated by the speed of light.

In his landmark book "Nothing but Motion" he states all that exists is simply vibratory motion. The photon as the building block of all things pulses outward and then collapses back inward toward the center as an electrical pulse.

Magnetic fields are dual as well. North pole magnetic fields combine with south pole magnetic fields to produce the rotation of the earth.

Over and over in nature we find examples of duality. We find the existence of opposites as paradox and then the final resolution of paradox as the dual elements combine perfectly to form something new.

The universe pulses, matter pulses, cells pulsate, the heart beats, the lungs breathe, one muscle pulls one way and it's opposite allow movement. We have the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Let's not forget how the brain is divided into two hemispheres or the obvious distinction of male and female. Food passes through the intestines in a pulsating movement.

Landmark books like "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" for the first time explore the possibility that males and females are not the same and don't experience life the same way. It might not be possible for one sex to understand the other sex. We may always be a mystery to each other and that might be how it should be.

In our world alternating current pulses at 60 cycles per second. Computers use binary bits of data based on "0's" and "1's". The digital age is upon us and it is all based upon the duality of postive and negative forces that are harnessed together in some way to create something useful.

We are coming close to the point of science accepting the dual nature of the universe out of neccessity but religion and psychology stubbornly refuse to examine the data. They don't understand how paradox and the resolution of paradox go hand in hand with modern chaos theory.

Anything may be described as an energy system. As more energy is applied to that system it will grow or progress in an orderly manner until it reaches a critical point where it goes chaotic. That is the point where the dual forces of the system are going in different directions and it seems as if everything is destroyed. As even more energy is applied the original system makes a quantum leap into a new type of energy system. This is the resolution of the paradox. The dual forces are once more working in harmony in a totally new way.

Isn't this another way of saying birth, death and rebirth? Isn't this how we become competent at a skill? Isn't this how a business venture become successful?

There are two sides to every philosophical point and both of them are valid. Debate can logically prove either view as correct. Essentially that means either view is worthless as well. The only view worth considering is not the paradoxical one but the resolution of the paradox. The OAK material presents the resolution to many of the paradoxical questions we are confronted with on a daily basis. Many are self-evident truths recognised by all when they are pointed out.

The resolution to paradox is always beautiful in its simplicity and its self-evident nature. When we talk about duality it is important to talk about the resolution of duality into a third as well. Rosicrucians call this the "Law of the triangle". Christianity term this the "Trinity" aspect of God. Pagans and Wiccans use the terms "Father, Mother, Child" and "Maid, Mother, Crone".

The resolution of duality is always a quantum leap into a new state of being and it is always preceded by a chaotic period or "dark night of the soul". Any system as it ages will at some point become chaotic. There is not reason to fear this process. It would be better if we understood it and became friends with it.

In life nothing ever stays the same and change is inevitable.
